Aourir is a town and rural commune of the Agadir Ida-Outanane prefecture, about 12 km north of Agadir on the N1 coast road towards Tamraght and Taghazout. It is nicknamed Banana Village after the banana plantations around the town, and the main road through the centre is lined with butchers', fish and produce stalls.
