Winter in Agadir: a long-stay guide and multi-tour passes

Climate, places to stay and ideas for several weeks on the coast, plus passes of 3 or 5 tours: you choose the tours and the dates during the season.

Spending the winter in Agadir means trading grey months for a mild, bright Atlantic coast. This guide gathers what helps on a long stay from November to March: the climate month by month, the areas to stay in between Agadir and Taghazout, ideas to fill several weeks without rushing, and our winter passes, which let you pick your tours and dates as your stay goes on.

The weather in Agadir in winter

Winter days in Agadir are mild and mostly sunny, while mornings and evenings are cool: bring layers, a warm jumper and a light jacket rather than summer clothes only.

Rain is rare and comes in a few short spells, mostly between November and January. The ocean stays cool for swimming, which is also why winter is the wave season in Taghazout.

Where to stay for a long winter stay

Most long-stay visitors choose between the city and the villages along the coast to the north. We do not rent accommodation ourselves: this is simply how the areas differ.

Agadir (city)

The practical choice for a first winter: the long beach promenade, the marina, Souk El Had, supermarkets, pharmacies and clinics, and many residences and flats let by the month. The areas near the beach, such as Founty, are easy to get around on foot.

Taghazout

The fishing village about 20 km north of Agadir that became the region’s surf spot. Younger and sportier, with cafés facing the ocean; winter brings the waves.

Tamraght

Between Aourir and Taghazout, quieter than Taghazout and popular for long stays, with rentals and guesthouses on the hillside above the sea.

Aourir

Right at the edge of Agadir to the north, known for its banana plantations and local market, and the start of the road up to Paradise Valley. Everyday Moroccan life, close to the city.

Travelling by campervan or motorhome? Many winter visitors stay at campsites along the coast. On tours that include pickup in your area, enter your campsite as the pickup address and leave the van parked for the day.

What to do over several weeks

On a long stay there is no need to fit everything into one week. A rhythm that works well: one outing a week, the big days out kept for the clearest skies, and the rest of the time for the beach and the town.

Half-day outings near the coast

Paradise Valley and its palm gorge, the argan goats, a horse ride along the Souss river, a camel ride on Taghazout beach at sunset, sandboarding in the dunes, Crocoparc, the Agadir city tour, and a beginners’ surf lesson in Taghazout.

Big days out

Marrakech for a long day, or Taroudant, the walled “little Marrakech”, with the Tiout oasis. Best on a clear, settled day; check the duration on each tour page.

Evenings and food

A Moroccan cooking class (one version starts with the market), or a sunset in the dunes with a Berber dinner and music: good outings for the shorter winter days.

On your own

Walks on the promenade, the Kasbah viewpoint, Souk El Had and the marina. The Amazigh New Year (Yennayer) is celebrated in mid-January; in 2027 Ramadan falls in February and March (exact dates depend on the moon sighting), when daily rhythms and opening hours change.

Good to know before a long stay

  • Entry and length-of-stay rules depend on your nationality and can change. Check them with official sources (the Moroccan embassy or consulate, your foreign ministry’s travel advice) before you go.
  • Check that your health and travel insurance covers a stay of several months abroad.
  • Days are shorter in winter: big days out start early and come back after dark, so pack a warm layer for the drive home.

Who the winter passes are for

Long-stay winter visitors

You spend several weeks or months on the Atlantic coast and want a few outings spread over your stay, without planning them all at once.

Campervan & motorhome travellers

Leave the van parked at your campsite for the day: on tours that include pickup in your area, we collect you from your accommodation.

Residences & holiday apartments

Staying in a residence or a rented flat rather than a hotel? Pickup works the same way: give its name and address when you book.

Pickup from hotels, campsites and residences

Pickup is part of a tour only when the tour says so: look at the pickup line on each tour card (for example “Hotel pickup and drop-off in the Agadir or Taghazout area”).

If your campsite, campervan area or residence is in the area the tour names, choose pickup at checkout and enter its name and address in place of a hotel. We confirm the exact pickup point and time with you before the tour.

Questions about wintering in Agadir and the passes

Is Agadir warm enough in winter?

Days are mild and mostly sunny from November to March, but mornings and evenings are cool and the sea is fresh. The climate table on this page gives the long-term monthly averages.

How does a winter pass work?

A pass covers a set number of tours (3 or 5) chosen from the eligible list, for the number of people you pick when buying. You get one code; each time you book an eligible tour you enter it in the “Gift voucher” field and one tour of the pass is used.

Do I have to choose the dates when I buy?

No. You choose each tour and its date yourself, separately and whenever it suits you, as long as the tour date is within the pass season.

Can we take the same tour twice?

Yes. Any eligible tour can be booked with the pass, including the same one more than once.

What if more people join us on one tour?

The pass covers the number of people it was bought for. Extra people on a booking simply pay the normal tour price online at checkout.

Do you pick up from campsites and residences?

Pickup is included only on tours that state it, and only in the area they name (shown on each tour). If your campsite or residence is in that area, enter it as your pickup address at checkout and we confirm the exact pickup point with you before the tour.

What is the cancellation policy?

Each tour you book follows our standard policy: full refund if you cancel 48 hours or more before the tour, 50% between 24 and 48 hours, no refund under 24 hours. For a tour booked with your pass, a full-refund cancellation puts that tour back on your pass.

How long is the pass valid?

For tours up to 31 March 2027, the end of the season shown on the pass. Tours not used by then expire with the pass.

How do I pay?

Online only, in euros, with PayPal (card or PayPal account). Nothing is paid on the day for the people covered by the pass.
