8 February – 9 March 2027
Morocco (nationwide)
Ramadan 2027 is expected to begin around 8 February 2027. Muslims fast from dawn to sunset; daytime life is calmer and evenings are lively after the sunset meal (iftar). Tours run as usual.
Expected date: it depends on the moon sighting or an official announcement and may change by a day or more.
The exact first day is only known after the crescent moon is sighted. Morocco follows its own official sighting, so the start can be a day later than in some other countries.
Good to know for visitors:
- Eat, drink and smoke discreetly in public during the day.
- Some cafés and restaurants change their hours; many open for the evening meal.
- Morocco usually moves its clocks back one hour (to GMT) for Ramadan; the government announces the exact change each year. Check pickup times after the change.
- Evenings are a great time to stroll the promenade and souks.
