Morocco (nationwide)

Eid al-Adha, the Feast of the Sacrifice, is one of the most important family holidays in Morocco. In 2027 it is expected on 16 or 17 May, depending on the moon sighting.

Expected date: it depends on the moon sighting or an official announcement and may change by a day or more.

Many Moroccans travel home to their families, so buses, trains and roads are very busy in the days before and after. Shops and souks can be closed for a few days. Tours can still be booked; plan and book ahead if your stay overlaps the holiday.
